What is a Community League?
A community league is an independently elected volunteer organization
which has been recognized by the City of Edmonton.
The primary
task of the community league is to assist the City of Edmonton with
various tasks such as the development of neighborhood parks, playgrounds, skating rinks, tennis courts, etc.
Elmwood Community League is composed of an elected Board of Directors, who are responsible for carrying out the business of the League.
We are totally dependent upon volunteers and members who give time and talents in an effort to make
our community, a better place in which to live.
Here is a sample of what we provide?
Recreational Programs - Elmwood Community League assists in
the presentation of a number of programs. These programs promote educational, physical, emotional, and social development of children, teens, adults and seniors through sports and fitness, hobbies, and general interest classes/activities.
Community Awareness - Our Community League can be the means for you to express your concerns about changes in our neighborhood on matters such as land use, transportation, waste management, playgrounds, etc.
to the City of Edmonton.
Activities - The League provides social functions such as
kid's programs, barbecues, and many clubs for everyone to meet and mingle.
Neighborhood Watch - Our community consists of 995 homes with
a population of about 2,500 people. The Neighborhood Watch Program
exists to assist in keeping our neighborhood safe by keeping you aware
of what is going on around us.
